HOLIDAY OPENING HOURS AT POST OFFICES

On August 20, all post offices will be closed. Regarding the holiday, opening hours on the other days will follow the schedule below.

July 27, 2026

• August 08, 2026 (Saturday) – Working day; post office opening hours are determined as follows:
  – In municipalities with a population over 50,000 (17 major cities), as well as in Budapest, at least one post office per district will operate from 08:00 to 16:00, while the remaining post offices will operate from 08:00 to 12:00.
  – In municipalities with a population between 15,000 and 50,000, at least one post office will be open from 07:00 to 12:00. The remaining post offices in the municipality will be available from 08:00 to 12:00.
  – In municipalities with a population under 15,000, post offices will provide services from 08:00 to 12:00.
• Between August 09 and 19, 2026 – Post offices will operate according to their standard daily schedule.
• August 20, 2026 (Thursday) – Public holiday; all post offices will be closed.
• August 21, 2026 (Friday) – Rest day; post offices will operate according to their Saturday schedule.
• August 22, 2026 (Saturday) – Post offices will operate according to their Saturday schedule.

The opening hours of post offices operating in shopping malls and those run by postal partners may differ from the above, based on agreements with the operators.
