200 éves a Herendi Porcelánmanufaktúra

Magyar Posta is paying tribute to the 200th anniversary of the founding of the Herend Porcelain Manufactory by issuing a commemorative stamp block. This jubilee edition commemorates one of the most outstanding representatives of Hungarian craftsmanship and artistic creation.

Founded in 1826, the manufactory has become one of the world's best-known porcelain brands over the past two centuries. Every step of shaping, casting, painting, and decorating praises the work of human hands. This unparalleled craftsmanship and dedication have made Herend porcelain a globally recognized "Hungaricum" and a defining part of Hungarian cultural heritage.

The central motif of the stamp block issued for the jubilee is a reimagined version of the Herend Porcelain Manufactory's world-famous Victoria pattern tea set. The first-day cover (FDC) features a stylized depiction of a purple magnolia flower, while the special postmark displays the logo of the Herend Porcelain Manufactory. The first-day covers, the various block versions, and the representative stamp set all contribute to ensuring that the memory of this jubilee represents a lasting value for philatelists and art lovers alike.

The stamp block was produced by Pénzjegynyomda Zrt. using photographs by Zsófia Erdélyi-Tóth and based on the designs of graphic artist Dániel Erdélyi. The first-day cover and the stamp set were manufactured by Pátria Nyomda Zrt.

The new release is now available for purchase at Filaposta, philatelic specialist services, selected post offices, and online at www.posta.hu.
